Finished Movement Five.

Some of the memorization that those students would do is amazing.

Didn't take any notes on this chapter. Would be curious to see what some of you thought about.

It's been a while...sorry guys

This was good stuff.... great perspective. I think the stuff that stood out most was the fact that Jesus was interested in the people that didn't make the cut... the people who everyone else had already discounted.
Sad to think about how Christians, at least a lot of us, tend to exclude the very people in which for one, Jesus is madly in love with, and two, the very people who Jesus used to eventually change history. I love where Jesus says he will use the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.
So often I catch myself wanting to fit into the "in" crowd" and this is such a great reminder that Jesus was all about those on the "outs"

Also at the beginning of the chapter I thought it was interesting how the Rabbis went around and spread their yoke. And it makes so much sense now that Jesus said "my yoke is easy and my burden is light".... because he is contrasting himself with other rabbi's teachings that may have weighed people down, instead of making their life lighter.
huh, so different then todays Churches..haha
Crazy how similar our issues are today.

OK, peace out
